About Us

What is WEA Olympic Council? A regional office of the Washington Education Association (WEA). Olympic Council serves as the link between your local association and the WEA. The regional program was initiated to give all members access to their union closer to home.

WEA Olympic Council  represents 34 local associations —  that’s 5300 public education employees — on the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas, from Gig Harbor to Forks. Our members work in schools as teachers, counselors, paraeducators, food service workers, bus drivers, and more.

For over 35 years Olympic Council has provided staff assistance and training resources to strengthen, promote and advance public education and advocate for the rights and livelihood of education employees.

We offer resources, support and experienced assistance to local association leaders and members through:

· member advocacy

· training

· negotiation/contract maintenance

· research

· lobbying

· relationship building

· problem solving

· legal assistance

· professional development opportunities

· grants
